In a proactive move towards enhancing communication infrastructure and preparing for the upcoming academic year, a pivotal meeting titled “The Office Meeting RE: End of Semester and Preparation for Mid-Year and 1st Semester SY 2024-2025” was convened on June 27, 2024, at 9:00 A.M. in the Sunflower Conference Room, Golden Lion Hotel. The event was spearheaded by the ICT Management Office (ICTMO) Main, headed by its ICTMO Director, Dr. Julius Cesar O. Mamaril, with the unwavering support of Dr. Elbert M. Galas, University President, toward becoming an industry-driven university. The meeting gathered ICTMO Heads, ICTMO Coordinators, and our valued partners from PLDT.
Presentations from our three UNIT Heads highlighted our achievements and preparations for the upcoming Academic Year 2024-2025:
– ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ค ๐๐ข๐ฆ ๐. ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ (Head, System Administration): Clarified the duties of campus coordinators, discussed PSU Online System Accounts (OSA), ISMS Campus++ portal, and addressed various campus issues.
-๐๐ง๐ ๐ซ. ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐ข๐๐ณ (Head, Network Administration): Discussed unit accomplishments, technical support, campus inspections, and upcoming training on Load Balancer and Firewall.
– ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐. ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ฏ๐ (Head, Information Administration): Provided updates on the PSU website, cybersecurity measures, Google Workspace (GWS) allocations, and subdomain websites for students.
We also had an insightful session with PLDT Enterprise, led by Mr. Vic A. Guinto and his team, where they demonstrated the proposed University-Wide PABX system. This new system will facilitate direct landline calls connecting 9 campuses, OUS, and SAS, enhancing communication for PSU students and stakeholders.
The meeting concluded with a Q&A session discussing resolutions for campus-specific issues and the turnover of an ID Printer to PSU San Carlos, received by Prof. Carlos Gamboa.
