The Internationalization Week celebration in Pangasinan State University had its own way of bringing Japanese, Malaysian and Filipino cuisines right infront of the attendees during the Cultural Expo event, September 10, 2024.

Spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Local and International Affairs led by Vice President Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, the said event highlighted a cooking show featuring cuisines from the three countries.

The Japanese team led by MR. JUNICHI TAKATSU AND MRS. IKUKO TAKATSU of the Global Culture Exchange Inc. showcased the impeccable processes in preparing Omusubi and Onigiri, a Japanese style rice ball and on-the-go food.
On the other hand, the Malaysian delegation headed by MS. NORSHIDA BINTI HASHIM AND DR. SYAHIRAH BINTI ALMUDDIN, demonstrated the proper way of cooking Nasi Lemak (coconut rice) with sambal (the hot relish that is eaten with the rice) and cucur udang (prawn fritters).

Completing the cooking show was the Filipino team headed by the PSU chefs, DR. RODELYN A.MEJA AND DR. GENELYN C. TERSONA, as they put in the plate what most Filipinos enjoy – puto cheese and suman malagkit with latik sauce.

After an immaculate presentation of the cuisines, everyone in the venue at the TechVoc Building of PSU Main Campus, had a chance to taste the food served and even a short while, attendees got to savor the cuisines without leaving the country.
