Fostering collaboration not only with state universities but private academic institutions as well, Pangasinan State University officials paid a courtesy visit to New Era University Main Campus in Quezon City on Monday, September 16, 2024.
PSU President Dr, Elbert M. Galas led the delegation who were warmly welcomed by the NEU officials headed by their President, Dr. Alberto Domingo, Jr.
President Galas said PSU prides itself on having an alumnus who is undoubtedly leading NEU excellently.
In addition, Vice President Celeste Mercado of PSUβs Quality Assurance division, also expressed gratitude and lauded Dr. Domingo for inspiring PSU graduates to persevere in life.
It can be remembered that PSU has previously invited Dr. Domingo to be a guest of honor and speaker in its 45th graduation ceremony as the latter is an alumnus of PSU School of Advanced Studies (SAS). On August 30, the NEU President graced the stage of PSU to speak on the theme: βPSUnian na may Pananalig, Pagsisikap at Malasakit: Katuwang ng Industriya sa Bagong Pilipinas (PSUnians: Shaping the New Philippines through Faith, Perseverance and Compassion)β
Other members of the PSU delegation include University Board Secretary Dr. Ailene Batang and staff Ms. Jen Manlincon, Dr. Rosario Valencerina of Alaminos City Campus, Dr. Liza Quimson of San Carlos City Campus, Dr. Marie Claire Briones of Binmaley Campus and Asst. Prof. Venus May Sarmiento of the Public Relations and Information Office.
In the program held at INC-NEU Library, Dr. Domingo emphasized the Universityβs appreciation for the potential linkages and collaboration that will be forged during the visit of the PSU contingent.
The NEU was particularly interested in benchmarking the best practices of PSU that led to its recognition as a Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Level III holder.
Consequently, the PSUnians were treated to the harmonies of the NEU Choir and to the inspiring exhibits at the INC Museum.
Although associated with the Iglesia Ni Cristo, the New Era University is a non-sectarian school with five campuses throughout the Philippines located in Quezon City (Main), Batangas, Pampanga, Rizal and General Santos, as stated in its official website. NEU also takes pride in being the only private university in the country to offer Bachelor of Science in Astronomy.
