As a leading institution committed to both academic and social responsibility, Pangasinan State University prioritizes opening its sports facilities to the wider community. This approach enhances not only the physical well-being of the public but also fosters inclusivity, community engagement, and strong partnerships with local organizations, schools, and residents. PSU’s facilities are widely recognized as valuable resources, promoting sustainable community development in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, which emphasizes health and well-being for all.

The recent sports event at Pangasinan State University (PSU) was a huge success, made possible by the unwavering support of the university leadership, medical teams, organizers, and participants. An alumnus and former varsity athlete of PSU expressed deep gratitude to PSU President Sir Kuya Elbert Galas, Sir Atz Espinoza Salcedo Ced, Ma’am Arlene Banganan Kon-ek, Ma’am Jul Gel, and Sir Kuya Claro Sison for their consistent backing of sports events. The alumnus, who continues to return year after year despite having graduated, praised the university’s ongoing dedication to nurturing athletic talent and fostering a healthy sports culture. They also reaffirmed the alumni’s commitment to supporting PSU’s football and futsal programs in the future.

The support of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the medical teams was also recognized for their vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of participants. Their prompt and effective first aid assistance during the event provided peace of mind for everyone involved. The alumnus emphasized the importance of their presence and expressed hope that the medical teams would continue to play a crucial role in future events. Gratitude was also extended to the event organizers, including John Michael Ebrio, John Ray Bumacod, Jan Angelo Ilustrisimo, Runny Wapson, and many others who worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s smooth execution. Their collective efforts, especially in dealing with tight deadlines, were key to the event’s success.

Finally, the alumnus thanked the teams that participated in the event, including athletes from Tuguegarao, Ilocos Norte, Benguet, Baguio, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Pampanga, Manila, Angeles, and Pangasinan, for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Their participation contributed to the event’s lively and competitive atmosphere. The alumnus ended by expressing excitement for the upcoming 7th Bolinao Super 7 Cup and expressed gratitude to all who made the event possible, highlighting that the success of such events is a collective effort. They look forward to more collaborations and the continued growth of PSU’s sports programs.
