In an effort to empower Asingan districts’ Out-of-School Youths (OSYs) with essential literacy skills, Pangasinan State University, Asingan Campus, launched a ‘3-Wheeled Classroom’ extension project in collaboration with the DepEd and LGUs of Asingan. The project aims to target vital skills—reading, writing, and computer technology—for a brighter future outside traditional schooling at Teofilo Gante Elementary School on Dec. 1.

Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, Campus Executive Director, passionately addressed the participants, stating, “Consider yourself fortunate to be part of this program. Completing it will earn gratitude from your family for your dedication! This isn’t just an opportunity; it’s a gateway to shaping your family’s future,” encouraging them to seize this chance for a better life.

The collaborative efforts of extension project leaders, Dr. Mary Jane U. Quibilan, BEEd and Gen. Department Chair, and Dr. Elsa Q. Terre, PRPIO Coordinator/BSE English Faculty member, along with the ALS teachers from Asingan districts 1 and 2, were instrumental in the launching of this visionary program.

Dr. Quibilan emphasized that she firmly believed in Dr. Jose Rizal’s notion that the youth represent the hope of our nation. “It’s imperative to initiate action now and persist until you attain the summit of success!”, she added. Simultaneously, Dr. Terre highlighted the paramount importance of education as the most potent catalyst for global transformation, encouraging them to be agents of change and motivate other young individuals to pursue their aspirations.

“The ‘3-Wheeled Classroom’ marks the beginning and serves as the path to their success, coupled with the right approach to life,” expressed by Dr. Marlon B. Fulgencio, Principal at Teofilo Gante Elementary School.

Meanwhile, Hon. Mark E. Abella, Senior Administrative Assistant, representing Municipal Mayor Engr. Carlos F. Lopez, Jr., expressed joy, saying, “I’m happy to witness the youth continuing to fulfill their dreams.”

Prof. Adoracion Gante, Extension Coordinator, fully supported the extension project along with the teacher-facilitators—Ms. Marry Ann Soberano, Ms. Angie Amla, Ms. Jo Ann Ventuira, Ms. Wenna Honrado, and Ms. Laarni Ancheta, who diligently facilitated the success of the program, contributed significantly to its achievements.

The ‘3-Wheeled Classroom’ program stands as a testament to collective empowerment, fostering a path of educational growth and brighter prospects for Asingan Districts’ Out-of-School youth.
