A young mother, Dumas faced adversity head-on. After becoming pregnant during her senior high school years, she was forced to work as a sales lady in Olongapo City to support her child. Despite the demanding work and the challenges of single parenthood, she harbored a dream of becoming a teacher.
In 2020, she enrolled at PSU Infanta Campus, taking advantage of online classes to balance her work and studies. Her dedication and hard work were recognized with a scholarship from the Pangasinan Scholarship Program for PSU, providing her with additional financial support.
Dumas’ academic excellence was evident in her consistent Dean’s Lister status and active involvement in student organizations. She culminated her college journey by serving as the President of the Association of Student Teacher Education in Region 1 (ASTER-1), the College Council of PSU Infanta Campus’ College of Teacher Education. Her leadership was instrumental in organizing various community extension programs, clean-up drives, and school projects.
Her outstanding achievements earned her a spot as the Campus’ official representative to the 2024 Gawad Parangal para sa Natatanging Mag-aaral ng PSU, a prestigious award recognizing the university’s top students. While she secured the 4th place among nine finalists, her journey is far from over.
Dumas graduated Cum Laude in 2024 and was honored with the Commission on Higher Education’s UniFast Academic Excellence Award for having the highest General Weighted Average among the graduating class of 2023-2024.

Her hard work and perseverance paid off. Escano graduated with Academic Distinction and further distinguished herself by securing the second-place position in the university-level search for the best demo teaching.
