In the awarding and closing ceremony on February 28, 2025 in Batac City, Ilocos Norte province. Dr. Galas joined the Presidents of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), University of Northern Philippines (UNP), Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) and Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) to congratulate the coaches, trainers and persistent athletes and performers of Region I.
Addressing the PSU Golden Lions, President Galas said the victories are not just about the wins but rather the result of hard work, long hours of practice and training and the moments that they persevered amidst all odds.
“My dear PSU Golden Lions, always remember that sports is not just about winning – its a celebration of your passion, your talent and perseverance. You are a testament to our university’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel in academics, athletics and cultural events. Remember the friendships you made, the lessons you learned, the feeling of giving all you’ve got and the pride that you represented PSU with your best,” President Galas said.
In the final and official tally for over-all performance, PSU emerged as the 1st runner-up in the PASUC Culture and Arts Festival while it landed 3rd runner-up in the SCUAA sports events.
Golden Lions who won Gold in group and individual game categories will represent Region I in the National SCUAA to be held in Camiguin island from April 22-26, 2025.
