A meeting of minds which showcased the best practices and mechanisms of Pangasinan State University’s Quality Assurance Division was held on March 26, 2025.

PSU led by 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬, welcomed the delegates from the 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 at the Golden Lion Hotel where he gave details of PSU’s quest for the Philippine Quality Award in 2019.

“𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑡 (𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑃𝑄𝐴) 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑠𝑢𝑐𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑓𝑢𝑙, 𝑤𝑒 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑔𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑢𝑝, 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑤𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑒𝑓𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑑 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑑. 𝐴𝑙𝑙 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑠𝑎𝑐𝑟𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝑜𝑓𝑓 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑤𝑒 𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 ℎ𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑡𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑏𝑜𝑟ℎ 𝑖𝑛 𝑝𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑐 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑃𝑄𝐴 𝐿𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙 𝐼𝐼𝐼, 𝑀𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝑄𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑀𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑖𝑛 2021,” said President Galas who served as the Director for QA then Vice President for QA during the PQA quest.

Meanwhile, the meeting continued at the library of the main campus where the 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐓. 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐨 met with the delegation from the South.

The SorSU delegation headed by its 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐁. 𝐅𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬, sets the eye for trace study mechanisms, PSU’s flagship program offerings, areas in the quest of the Philippine Quality Award (PQA), and monitoring and evaluation practices.

𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐓. 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐭. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐇. PSU’s best practices extend beyond the academe to other institutions, providing a solid, high-quality foundation of leadership and service— a trademark of the university under the leadership of Dr. Elbert M. Galas.
