Clad with the university’s color branding of golden yellow and royal blue, 𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬, led the 225 employee-athletes who joined twenty-five (25) participating SUCs for the 2025 Mid-year Sports and Socio-cultural Festival of the Association of State Colleges and Universities – Solid North (ASCU-SN) opening program, July 15, 2025.
Dr. Galas rallied the PSU delegation to the gymnasium of Benguet State University (this year’s host SUC), and encouraged them to always embody the attributes of a PSUnian in the game field.
“Take this opportunity to build connections among SUCs while considering enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and passion in the games,” Dr. Galas said.
University Director Dr. Arlene B. Kon-ek of the NSTP, PE and Sports Development unit, said the opening ceremony of the week-long sports activity featured a unity parade and a short program at the BSU Gymnasium.
Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, CHED Chairperson, served as the guest of honor and speaker.
The event was also graced by Mayor Roderick C. Awingan of La Trnidad, Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III, CHED Commissioner; Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, ASCU-SN 2025 President and presidents of participating SUCs.
PSU Vice Presidents Dr. Rosario DL. Valencerina, Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, Campus Executive Directors, and Main Office Directors personally attended the opening program.
