Pangasinan State University joined members countries of the ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN) alongside higher education institutions in the Philippines in a Forum as it seeks to strengthen its global QA initiatives.
The forum and general assembly held on on October 9-10, 2025 in Malate, Manila, serves as a strategic venue to shape the future direction of AQAN under its newly appointed Executive Board.
University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, alongside Vice Presidents Dr. Celeste T. Mercado and Dr. Weenalei T. Fajardo of the Quality Assurance and the Academic and Student Services Division, respectively, represented PSU in the event.
“Quality assurance has long been embedded in the system of PSU. Through events like this, the university sustains its quality practices, forges network and increases its international brand of excellence that will ultimately redound to the benefit of students especially in giving them a great advantage in employment opportunities,’ President Galas stated.
Dr. Milabel E. Ho, AQAN president, explained that the assembly is a valuable platform to explore future initiatives and collaborative projects aimed at strengthening AQAN and its member-institutions.

Quality Assurance: The Southeast Asian Framework and Directions in Higher Education; Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance in the Philippines and the AQAN Framework: ASEAN Direction for Quality Assurance.
