Eight degree programs in the University faced another cycle of accreditation visits from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Inc. on October 27-29 and October 29-31.

The October 2025 batch programs included in the said accreditation are from the PSU campuses of Binmaley (1st Survey Visit), Lingayen, Bayambang and Sta Maria (4th Survey Visit) and Urdaneta City (3rd Survey Visit.

PSU President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, along with Vice Presidents: Dr. Celeste T. Mercado (OVPQA), Dr. Weenalei T. Fajardo (OVPASS), Dr. Razeale G. Resultay (OVPREI), Dr. Jeanilyn L. Villanueva (OVPAFM) and Dr. Ian D. Evangelista (OVPLIA) extended their united quest to quality education at the host venue, DTNB Convention Hall.

𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 during the opening program.

The President thanked the accreditors and acknowledged the efforts of everyone in the continuous improvement in delivering quality services.

Dr. Galas added that this week, PSU embarkS on another round of accreditation as the university aims to see how much of the eight programs in five campuses have developed in terms of its service not only to the academic community but to the larger society.

In the opening program on October 29, 2025, AACCUP Coordinators Dr. Enrico Rivano (Laguna SPU) and Dr,. Manuel A. Sanchez (Iloilo STU) highlighted the importance of the accreditation of programs in an academic institution in the quest for innovation and development.

Lingayen Campus led by Executive Director Dr. Marie Claire Briones subjected its four programs – Bachelor of Arts in Economics, BPA, BTVLED and BSBA for the 4th survey visit.

AACCUP Accreditors for Lingayen Campus are: Dr. Jenny Beb Espenelli (CaviteSU), Dr. Monette Soquiat (BatangasSU), Dr. Dennis Bacuyag (CagayanSU), Prof. Marilou Alngag (KalingaSU), Dr. Noel Quidato (IloiloSTU), Dr. Elsie Canlas (TarlacSU), Dr. Jerome Soriano (TAU) and Dr. Kim Edward Santos (Nueva Ecija UST).

Meanwhile, Bayambang Campus headed by Executive Director Dr. Madlyn Tingco had its 4th survey visit for Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Accreditors for Bayambang Campus include: Dr. Sarah Taupan (Western MindananoSU) and Dr. Mark Ryan Contaoi (Sultan KudaratSU).
Also in for the 4th survey visit is the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture of Sta. Maria Campus led by CED Dr. Oliver Caasi. They were accredited by: Dr. Gilbert Stanly Baylosis (Iloilo STU) and Dr. Lilibeth Gumpal (Isabela SU).

Meanwhile, coming in for the 3rd survey visit is the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Program of Urdaneta City Campus headed by Dr. Renato E. Salcedo. Their accreditors are Dr. Adora Zerrudo (USeP), Dr Annabell Gacayan (Palawan SU) and Dr. Roy Garbin (TUP).

Incidentally, the Binmaley Campus accreditation for its Bachelor of Secondary Education program 1st survey visit transpired on October 27-29, 2025 in a hybrid format led by University officials and its CED Dr. Joseph Campit.

The AACCUP Team Leader for the program is Dr. Arlene D. Talosa of Cagayan State University while Dr. Domarjun S. Tagunod also of Cagayan SU serves as Lead Accreditor with Dr. Camia A. Lasig of Central Luzon SU as member. (See separate story).

PSU believes that open mindedness and collaboration are effective approaches in pursuing successful accreditation as it makes an institution a catalyst of positive change.
