The United Nations General Assembly designated the 5th of June as World Environment Day to emphasize that the protection and health of the environment is a continuing major worldwide concern.
Since its inception over 50 years ago, World Environment Day has grown into a powerful platform, inspiring positive change and encouraging sustainable practices. The first celebration in 1973, themed “𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡,” set the tone for a movement that has grown to include 193 member states, the UN said.
As such, PSU Campuses across the province embarked on tree planting activities and clean up drives today, led by the Campus Executive Directors and participated in by teaching and non- teaching personnel, students and stakeholders.
PSU takes pride in continuously caring for our one and only planet.
