Pangasinan State University is one with the world in helping save lives through a blood donation activity.
In observance of the World Blood Donor Day, PSUnians in Lingayen Campus joined the Bloodletting and Blood Donation Awareness Campaign dubbed as “Pankakasakey” (Unity or Oneness) which was held at the PSU Lingayen Campus covered court on June 17, 2023, in partnership with the Campus Supreme Student Council, National Service Training program (NSTP) Reserved Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Unit, Campus Medical Team, and the Philippine Red Cross – Dagupan Chapter.
Campus Executive Director Dr. Renato E. Salcedo said the primary goal of the event is to spread awareness of the importance of safe blood and blood products as well as to express gratitude to volunteers for their gifts of life-saving blood.
During the lecture proper, the Focal Person of the Red Cross Youth San Carlos City Branch Ms. Angelica R. Paris discussed the uses and components of the blood and introduced different laws inclined to the event.
Moreover, the event concluded with words of gratitude coming from the NSTP Blood Letting Project Implementer Ms. Richie A. Magat. Present during the activity were Lingayen Campus Coordinator Ms. Melani Caronpngan, the Director for NSTP, PE, and Sports Development Dr. Arlene B, Kon-ek, and faculty members of the General Education Department.
