Pangasinan State University has reached a monumental achievement as it took center stage at the 2nd National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA) – Quality Assurance Summit and Conferment Ceremony 2026 held in Manila on March 5-6.
Under the theme “Responsible Future: Quality Assurance in Action,” the university was honored alongside academic programs from across the Philippines, marking a significant victory in its pursuit of global competitiveness and educational excellence. This recognition highlights the University’s sustained commitment to quality, with the conferment of certificates covering the period from 2022 to the present.
The pinnacle of this recognition was the formal conferment of the Certificate of Institutional Accreditation to the Lingayen (Main) Campus for Institutional Accreditation Level IV (Re-Accredited) status. This prestigious distinction serves as a powerful affirmation that the University has satisfactorily met the highest prescribed standards of institutional accreditation and has demonstrated full compliance with established quality assurance requirements. It is a reflection of the institutionโs overall effectiveness across nine key areas: governance and management, teaching and learning, faculty and staff, research, extension and consultancy, linkages, student support services, library and learning resources and quality assurance systems.
In addition to this institutional honor, the sustained excellence of the university was further highlighted by the conferment of a total of 38 Certificates of Accreditation for academic programs certified from 2022 to the present, spanning years of rigorous evaluation: 10 for 2022, 5 for 2023, 7 for 2024, 8 for 2025, and 8 for 2026. These certificates were officially awarded during the summit, reinforcing PSUโs status as a persistent leader in quality education and institutional accountability.
Representing the university during this significant event was Asst. Professor William V. Cayetano, Director for Local Accreditation, who attended the activity and personally received the certificates of accreditation on behalf of the institution. His participation highlights the university’s active engagement in national quality assurance movements and the dedicated leadership present within our academic ranks.
This series of successes was made possible through the visionary leadership of ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐, who himself served as the Vice President for Quality Assurance during the administration of former President Dr. Dexter R. Buted. Appreciation also goes to the Office of the Vice President for Quality Assurance (OVPQA), currently headed by Dr. Celeste T. Mercado, and the foundational efforts of the former Vice Presidents who served in the OVPQA, Campus Executive Directors, the dedicated Technical Working Groups (TWG), faculty and personnel, whose collective effort and commitment to excellence ensure that Pangasinan State University remains a resilient institution capable of nurturing future-ready learners for the nation.
Beyond the awarding ceremonies, the summit served as a premier venue for high-level plenary sessions and strategic dialogues. Key activities focused on the sustainability agenda for Philippine higher education, the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics in academic governance, and the alignment of institutional standards with global benchmarks. These sessions are vital in fostering a transformative education system that is not only responsive to industry needs but also resilient enough to withstand global disruptions, ensuring that PSU remains at the forefront of innovation and institutional growth.
