Two distinct groups of educators from various PSU campuses: newly hired instructors and newly tenured faculty members who were recently granted permanent items paid a courtesy visit to the University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas on March 3, 2026.

The courtesy visit was more than a ceremonial occasion. The University President took the time to conduct a meticulous, hands-on verification of each faculty member’s credentials. Every document was carefully reviewed to ensure that the academic background and specialization of each instructor aligned with the program to which they were assigned. Whether in the Industrial Technology Department or the Teacher Education Department, the President verified that each faculty member’s expertise perfectly matched the curriculum and the learning needs of the students in their respective campuses.

Further, it provided an opportunity for a collegial interaction between the University President and the faculty members, as well as to celebrate the expansion and strengthening of PSU’s teaching workforce.

The first group included dozens of newly appointed “Instructor I” personnel, recruited to fill 68 teaching positions across the university’s network of campuses. These faculty members will serve in campuses including Alaminos, Asingan, Bayambang, Binmaley, Infanta, Lingayen, San Carlos City, Sta. Maria, and Urdaneta City, covering a broad range of disciplines such as Business Administration, Information Technology, Nursing, Education, and Engineering.

Joining them were 13 faculty members recently confirmed to permanent status, who were present to formalize their tenured appointments and secure their long-term roles within the university.
Already familiar with PSU’s operations, these educators now carry the official recognition of their permanent standing, marking a milestone in their academic careers.

The gathering, made possible by Dr. Shiela Marie Malicdem, Human Resource Office Director – along with her heads and staff, concluded as a symbol of both the recognition of the faculty members’ achievements and the University President’s personal vow to academic excellence.

This hands-on approach upholds the university’s high standards in education, emphasizing that excellence begins with careful, precise selection and appointment of its educators.
