In line with its mission to strengthen internationalization and global engagement, Pangasinan State University, through the Office of the Vice President for Local and International Affairs, conducted the PSU Global Compass: A Capability Building Program for International Relations Officers, Global Citizenship Education Coordinators, and Internationalization Focal Persons on March 5, 2026, at the ASEANA Hall, PSU Golden Lion Hotel.
The program was spearheaded by OVPLIA under the leadership of Dr. Renato E. Salcedo, Vice President for Local and International Affairs, who emphasized the importance of building a unified and strategic approach toward internationalization across all PSU Campuses.
Adding depth and expertise to the program were distinguished invited speakers, including Carlo O. Dellomos, Deputy Director of the Global Citizenship Education Cooperation Centre Philippines and Executive Director of the Filipino Values Research Laboratory, and Marianne P. Villaruel, Director of the External Linkages and International Affairs at Tarlac Agricultural University. Their insights provided valuable perspectives on global citizenship education, international collaboration, and the strengthening of institutional linkages, enriching the participants’ understanding of global engagement in higher education.
The initiative aims to strengthen institutional readiness for both national and international accreditation while empowering coordinators who lead mobility programs, global partnership and provide GCED integration.
Through this event, participants engaged in different session designs to harmonize understanding and implementation of key internationalization frameworks within the University.
The program highlighted OVPLIA’s roadmap and strategic directions, policies and procedures for international travel and mobility, the development and management of local and international linkages, and institutional integration of GCED across PSU campuses.

The PSU Global Compass serves as a strategic platform for collaboration among campuses, ensuring that PSU’s internationalization efforts move forward with clarity, coordination and a shared commitment to global partnerships.
