Pangasinan State University once again received prestigious recognition as it bagged the championship in the Well-being Category and secured finalist honors in two other categories at the Investors in People (IiP) Philippines Awards 2026, held on September 18 at the Discovery Suites in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
The recognition adds to the University’s achievements under the administration of 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬, following its distinction as the first higher education institution in Asia to receive IiP Platinum accreditation, the highest level of recognition under the IiP people management framework.
“We are very overwhelmed with this award so we commit that we will continuously provide a healthy and comfortable workplace that promotes total well-being not only among state universities in the Philippines but of course in Asia,” Dr. Galas said.
PSU San Carlos City Campus, led by Campus Executive Director Dr. Gudelia M. Samson, represented the University in its winning entry for the Wellbeing Category.
Meanwhile, Ms. Anabelle C. Caser, a faculty member of PSU Sta. Maria Campus, was named a finalist for Inspiring Employee of the Year. The campus is headed by Campus Executive Director Dr. Oliver Caasi.
PSU also secured a finalist distinction for People Investor of the Year, which was jointly received by President Galas and the Human Resource Management and Development Office personnel led by Director Shiela Marie Malicdem.
Bannering the theme “15 Years of Making Work Better,” the awarding ceremony brought the University’s workplace and employee development efforts into the national spotlight.
Before entering the national awards, PSU conducted a University-Level Search and Evaluation to identify its official entries. The process paved the way for the participation of the University, its campus representative, and its faculty nominee in the three categories.
The awards reflect an institutional priority advanced by the Galas administration: strengthening the University through its people.
During PSU’s IiP re-assessment preparations, President Galas emphasized the importance of a healthy, professional and sustainable work and academic environment, linking workplace innovation to effective personnel management.
The September recognitions build on PSU’s earlier Platinum accreditation, which marked a milestone in its efforts to improve people management and organizational leadership. In a subsequent feedback session, Galas acknowledged the collective contribution of the University community to achieving that distinction.
With a national Wellbeing win and finalist honors recognizing both an individual faculty member and the institution, PSU’s latest IiP awards highlight the role of its campuses and employees in advancing the University’s commitment to better workplaces.
