All the way from the island of Mindanao, the 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 visited 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 on January 22, 20205 to commence collaboration on various innovative projects.
𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬 personally welcomed 𝐃𝐎𝐫𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 at the Administration Building of the Main Campus in Lingayen town as talks on the ASIN Center ensued.
‘𝑊𝑒 𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑃𝑜𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐷𝑂𝑟𝑆𝑈 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑚 𝑓𝑟𝑜 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑚𝑠 𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐴𝑆𝐼𝑁 𝐶𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑐𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑑𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑙𝑡 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑑𝑠,” Dr. Galas said.
𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐲 of the 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 started the discussion of PSU’s best practices and thanked the DOrSU for “opening doors as SUCs stand as beacon of innovation”
“𝑊𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑖𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑐 𝑠𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦. 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ 𝑏𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑘𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑒𝑥𝑐𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑡𝑜.,” Dr. Resultay said.
Additionally, 𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐱 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐥 presented the 𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 project which was established under the 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓-𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐑) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦.
Consequently, DOrSU’s Dr. Ponce, who came with 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐩 𝐘𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 shared that the HEI is celebrating its fourth year of universityhood and is looking for possible opportunities for collaboration in the fields of research and extension.
Exchange of ideas resulted to inputs in a Memorandum of Understanding that includes collaboration on Robotic 3D printing, fertilizer for coconut production, solar method, standardized salt beds, tablesalt safety on microplastics, natural clay bricks and artificial reefs regeneration.
“𝑊𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑘 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑚 𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒, 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑. 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑦 𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑜𝑏𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒. 𝐼𝑡𝑠 𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑒𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑦𝑜𝑢 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑡 𝑃𝑆𝑈 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑤𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡𝑜 𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑡 𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑜,” Dr. Ponce said in his response.
In closing, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐚 thanked the visiting HEI for coming to PSU as a new partnership was again forged.
The PSU team also toured the DOrSU group at PSU Binmaley Campus where the ASIN Center is being constructed.
