Just a day before the grand awarding ceremony for the ‘Natatanging Mag-aaral ng PSU 2025’, the nine candidates from Pangasinan State University campuses participated in the public forum and interview on Monday, August 4, 2025.
𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑬𝒍𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝑴. 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒔, said that through this event, PSUnians’ awareness of community development and their role as initiators of peace and social equality has been further honed.
The Gawad Parangal para sa Pinakanatatanging Mag-aaral 2025 marks its 11th year of recognizing exemplary PSU students in the fields of leadership, resilience, academics and moral integrity as future professionals.
Three external members comprised this year’s Board of Judges for the public forum held at the Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall. The panel included Hon. Edren M. Llanillo (Incumbent Councilor and Founder of PadyaKaisipan and Co-founder of the Go Bike Project), Hon. Aldrin O. Soriano (former Councilor and a seasoned media personality), and Hon. Nicanor Germono Jr. (Co-founder and President of Youth of Pangasinan Heritage and an executive of the Pangasinan Polytechnic College).
The nine candidates went through a series of questions related to social issues, their initiatives as student leaders, and their advocacy for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), prior to the anticipated main event on August 5.
The Office of the Vice President for Academics and Student Services (OVPASS), led by OIC-Vice President Dr. Weenalie T. Fajardo, spearheaded the search for the ‘Natatanging PSUnian’ award.
Director Marienuelle T. Aquino of the Student Services and Alumni Affairs led her team together with Dr. Regina F. Santos, Dr. Milleohness DG. Reyes, Sr. Cristie Marie C. Dalisay, and Student Regent Chary Ann May C. Santos.
Campus Executive Directors, Deans and PRIO teams were also in attendance to show their support.
