Pangasinan State University (PSU) ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐, ๐ซ๐. ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐, received two prestigious national awardsโthe ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ and the Award for Excellence in Educational Leadership and Supervision (๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐๐)โon May 31, 2026, from the Association of Educators, Scientists, Students and Technologists of the Philippines, Inc. (ASSETT Philippines), Kapisanan ng mga Filipinong Awtor at Manunulat sa Pilipinas, Inc. (KAFAMPI), and M.E. Publications, during the 2nd Gawad Pamana ng Pluma International held at the Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza, Baguio City.
The Gawad Tanglaw ng Akademya is a distinguished recognition conferred upon academic leaders who have shown transformative and exemplary leadership in advancing education, particularly in ways that enrich culture, the arts, and national identity.
Meanwhile, the Award for Excellence in Educational Leadership and Supervision (Gawad Sulo ng Pamumuno) under the Gawad Sulo Recognition Program, honors outstanding administrators among others who demonstrate exemplary leadership, instructional stewardship, ethical governance, and transformative impact on school communities.
Receiving both honors together speaks loudly of the breadth and depth of Dr. Galasโ contributions to institutional development and educational leadership.
Since assuming office as SUC President in December 2022, Dr. Galas has steered PSU with clarity of purpose and a strong sense of direction. His leadership has ushered in meaningful progress in academic programs, research initiatives, and digital transformation, while upholding integrity and accountability across the institution.
