In a celebration of youth leadership, the Kapisanang Sulo ng Diwa (KSD) of the Languages Department has been recognized as Outstanding Club for UNESCO 2023 under the culture category during the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO 2023, held at Manila Grand Opera Hotel, Sta. Cruz, Manila on December 9-11.

KSD has been an active member of UNESCO Clubs since its accreditation in 2022 by the National Coordinating Body of Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines (NCBUCP) that recognizes the significant efforts of organizations and individuals in advancing the thrusts of UNESCO at the grassroots level.

Adding to this remarkable achievement, Jean Clarence C. Marcelo, the President of KSD, has been acclaimed as UNESCO Clubs Outstanding Youth Leader etching her mark in national student leadership.

Moreover, KSD received its Certificate of Good Standing for successfully complying with the requirements such as submission of annual reports that enables the organization for re-accreditation in the UNESCO Clubs Philippines.

As it commemorates its 13th anniversary of establishment as the biggest and most extensive network of UNESCO Clubs for young advocates in the nation, NCBCUP continues to support the yearly International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO (Y4U), which brings together young leaders and youth advocates under the theme “The State of the 2030 Agenda and Beyond: Clubs for UNESCO in Action.”

This achievement stands as a testament to the unwavering support and guidance provided by key figures within the academic community of PSU Bayambang: Dr. Gudelia M. Samson, Campus Executive Director, alongside Dr. Ma. Theresa E. Macaltao, the Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Dr. Mary Ann J. Bullagay, Chairperson of the Languages Department and the invaluable guidance offered by KSD Adviser, Mr. Jeferson A. Austria, have been instrumental in shaping the organization’s path toward this recognition.
