The Pangasinan State University headed by University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, welcomed the Pangasinan Polytechnic College (PPC) led by its President, Prof. Raymundo D. Rovillos, for a meeting on the scholarship program, Lotte Scholarship Foundation, February 29.

The said foundation is an international institution that actively supports the development of educational initiatives in the rapid growing markets of the ASEAN and South Asian Regions, through scholarship grants and other forms of educational welfare assistance and initiatives.

“Ngayon palang, nagpapasalamat na kami sa Provincial Government ng Pangasinan at sa PPC for this partnership which aims to support our number one stakeholder, students, to uplift their status most especially in financial matters and have the motivation to pursue education,” Dr. Galas said.

As stated, the PPC was chosen by the Lotte Scholarship Foundation as one of its mediums to provide scholarship grants to chosen deserving students and through the endorsement of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan led by Governor Ramon ‘Mon-Mon’ Guico III, PSU together with two other higher education institutions in the province,will be given similar opportunity as beneficiaries.

Prof. Rovillos also shared that the establishment of PCC opens stronger partnership with other academic institutions especially PSU in the attainment of holistic development goal.

The Vice President for Academics and Student Services of the university, Dr. Manolito C. Manuel, alongside Director for Local and International Relations, Prof. Celeste T. Mercado also attended the said meeting.

Another meeting is set to happen to formalize the partnership of the two institutions including scholarship programs and academic collaborations pending the refinement of the Memorandum of Agreement.
