Established best practices in the academic programs of Pangasinan State University became the highlight in the meeting of minds activity as Cavite State University (CaVSU) benchmarks PSU on May 10.

The event, held at the Audio-Visual Room of PSU Main Campus, signified the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing between institutions.

PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas said that the attainment of quality standards is a development of culture which adheres to continuous improvement of the systems, procedures and services in the University.

“Our goal at Pangasinan State University is to strive for excellence and continuously set higher standards. With the genuine contributions of every member of the PSU community, we are proud to say that we are working towards internationalization. We are committed to producing industry-driven professionals who are globally competent,” Dr. Galas added.

The benchmarking activity covered the best practices on various departments in Pangasinan State University such as the College of Computing Science (CCS), College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM), College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA) and Library Services Unit.

The Campus Executive Director (CED) for PSU-Lingayen Campus Dr. Renato E. Salcedo, led the presentation of the best practices during the event, alongside college deans from various departments.

The Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Office Dr. Manolito C. Manuel, welcomed the delegates and sat as a panel member during the open forum as discussion centered around topics such as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification, scholarships available to both students and faculty, and curriculum revision and implementation were laid out.

Meanwhile, The Campus Administrator of CaVSU and head of the delegation, Prof. Noel A. Sedigo, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by PSU during their visit to learn about quality practices that they can apply in their own institution.

“PSU undeniably deserves all the awards it has received for quality management and excellent service delivery, which is evident in their accomplishments. As we head back to our university, we hope to apply the same concepts and practices we have learned from PSU. Thank you po ng marami,” Prof. Sedigo shared.

The benchmarking activity was participated in by other PSU officials, including Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza, CED for PSU-Alaminos, Dr. Weenalie Fajardo, Director for Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Randy Joy Ventayen, Director for Research Development Office, Dr. Ethel Reyes-Chua, Head for (CHED) Initiated Quality Assurance in the University, Mr. Jonathan Panataleon for Library Services Unit, as well as college deans and faculty members from PSU-Lingayen Campus.
