Meanwhile, PSUโs Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation, led by Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, and NRCP Division 1 Secretary Dr. Honelly Mae Cascolan, along with NRCP personnel, Ms.Kim Glaiza Wong, NRCP Project Manager Ms. Hilary Anne Capistrano, facilitated the meeting.
A significant portion of the program focused on the National Integrated Basic Research Agenda (NIBRA), where participants were introduced to the countryโs priority research areas that serve as the framework for addressing national development concerns through basic research.
Discussions emphasized the importance of aligning institutional research initiatives with NIBRA to produce evidence-based solutions responsive to emerging societal needs.
Prospective members were likewise guided through the NRCP membership application process, with resource speakers explaining eligibility requirements, documentary submissions, and evaluation procedures. The session also provided participants with the opportunity to raise questions and clarify concerns regarding membership qualifications and research opportunities under the council.
The Membership Recruitment and Capacity Building Activity forms part of the NRCPโs continuing efforts to strengthen partnerships with higher education institutions and encourage greater engagement among Filipino researchers in contributing to the nationโs research and innovation agenda.
About 30 onsite and 80 online participants joined the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) membership and capacity building held at the Research Conference Room and streamed via Microsoft Teams to accommodate participants joining virtually.
