The Philippine Normal University and Pangasinan State University entered into a MOU and MOA signing to strengthen GCED initiatives, September 6, 2024.
𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬 joined the virtual ceremonial signing along with 𝐏𝐍𝐔 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐉. 𝐓𝐮𝐠𝐚, via zoom platform.
Through the said Memorandum of Understanding, the two academic institutions commit and agree to do full cooperation in the formulation and development of policies for the implementation of the Regional GCED initiatives; report on Best GCED Practices and Initiatives; and collaborate on other exchanges of knowledge that is community-based and cultural in nature.
Meanwhile, PNU being designated as the Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Cooperation Centre (GCC) for the Philippines by the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) under the auspices of UNESCO in 2022, aimed to collaborate with fellow Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) aiming to establish and nurture regional hubs.
On the other hand as stipulated in the Memorandum of Agreement, PSU will contribute its expertise in to the development and implementation of GCED programs as a GCC Regional hub in Region I.
Dr. Galas was joined in by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐭𝐚 𝐂. 𝐃𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐬, 𝐏𝐒𝐔’𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, during the said MOU and MOA signing. Other GCC regional hubs in the country also held their ceremonial signing simultaneously.
