The Pangasinan State University led by 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑬𝒍𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝑴. 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒔, successfully concluded PRIME (Promoting Region 1 through Multicultural Experience) Camp 2025, the first of its kind.

The event which was conducted from June 30 to July 4 and jampacked with activities, made an unforgettable impact among PRIME campers hailing from academic institutions of Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, and across the Phillipiines.

“𝑀𝑎𝑦 𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑐𝑎𝑚𝑝 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢, 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑑𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑦, 𝑟𝑖𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑞𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑎 𝑏𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑓𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒,” 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝.

The said international engagement was sperheaded by the 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒇𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒔 𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝑫𝒓. 𝑰𝒂𝒏 𝑫. 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂.

Dr. Ian shared that PRIME Camp is not merely an event, but an act of faith and hope. “𝐹𝑎𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑔𝑟𝑜𝑤 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑖𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑢𝑛𝑙𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒,” the Vice President added.

𝑩𝒂𝒚𝒖 𝑲𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒏, 𝑴.𝑷𝒅, a PRIME camper from Indonesia shared that his experience is an amazing learning opportunity. The camper lauded PSU for coming up with an international activity, “PSU is amazing,” Kurniawan said.

The closing program was held at the PSU Golden Lion Hotel on July 4, 2025. Public Relations and Information Office Director, Asst. Prof. Venus May H. Sarmiento, gave a synthesis of the events and highlighted how successful and enjoyable the activities were.
