True enough, the Pangasinan State University together with the DOST-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) held an on-site consultation conference, October 21- 24, 2024.
The said conference discussed the formation of impact assessment (IA) team in the university bringing in guidelines mandated by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
According to the university’s 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉, 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇. 𝑹𝒂𝒛𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝑮. 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝑺𝑼 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑫𝒓. 𝑬𝒍𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝑴. 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒔, impact assessment is a crucial tool for evaluating the potential social, economic and environmental consequences of policy decisions, projects and activities.

𝑫𝑶𝑺𝑻-𝑷𝑪𝑨𝑨𝑹𝑫 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒔, 𝑱𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂 𝑷. 𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑲𝒚𝒍𝒆 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝑫. 𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒂, talked on the process flow of proposal development and submission, and requirement from the university.
Vital topics on technical reviews and workshops were highlighted in the succeeding days of the conference held at the PSU Golden Lion Hotel and at the RDO Conference Hall.
Campus executive directors, REIGn Directors together with coordinators and centerheads and representatives from Accounting and Procurement offices were in attendance.
