Reinforcing its commitment to institutional excellence, Pangasinan State University (PSU) showcased its premier Quality Assurance practices to the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) and the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) during a virtual benchmarking activity held on April 8.
The activity, held at the Office of the President’s Conference Room, was spearheaded by Dr. Celeste Mercado, Vice President for Quality Assurance. Joining her were Dr. Randy Joy Ventayen, Director for International Accreditation.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Mercado expressed her sincere gratitude to the partner universities, emphasizing that the session serves as a vital platform for open knowledge-sharing and the cultivation of stronger inter-institutional ties. The discussion with TUP centered on the complexities of the ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS).
Representatives from TUP, headed by Mr. Justine Kylo-Marc M. Orpia, Quality Assurance Head, expressed their appreciation for the transparency and the technical depth of the strategies shared, noting that the insights gained would be instrumental for future applications within their respective campuses. They expressed high hopes for the long-term impact of these shared practices on their own institutional frameworks.
The successful conduct of this activity is a direct reflection of the continued leadership of University President Elbert M. Galas. Under his administration, PSU has consistently prioritized strategic partnerships, institutional effectiveness and quality-driven governance.
By maintaining these high-level initiatives and benchmarking engagements, even while navigating the complexities of current global energy protocols, PSU continues to reinforce its role as a trailblazer in advancing innovation, collaboration, and excellence across the landscape of Philippine higher education.
