Pangasinan State University (PSU) continues to strengthen its commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, and accessible learning environment for all students, including Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Recognizing that accessibility is an essential part of quality education, PSU provides facilities and support mechanisms designed to help ensure that every member of the university community can move around the campus, access essential services, and participate in academic and co-curricular activities with dignity and independence.
Among the university’s accessibility initiatives are ramps and other mobility-friendly pathways that help students and visitors who use wheelchairs, mobility aids, or have difficulty navigating stairs. These facilities provide safer and more convenient access to classrooms, offices, and other important areas within the campus.
PSU also promotes the availability of accessible comfort rooms (CRs) designed to accommodate the needs of PWDs. These facilities provide adequate space and features that support safe and independent use, helping ensure that basic necessities can be accessed without unnecessary barriers.
In addition to physical facilities, PSU supports accessibility through priority lanes, reserved parking spaces, and other reasonable accommodations for individuals who may require additional assistance. These measures demonstrate the university’s effort to make its services more responsive to the diverse needs of its students and stakeholders.
Accessibility, however, goes beyond ramps and physical structures. It also means creating a university culture where PWDs are respected, included, and given equal opportunities to learn, participate, and succeed. Through its policies, programs, facilities, and services, PSU continues to promote an environment where differences are recognized and barriers to participation are reduced.
The university’s commitment to inclusive facilities reflects the principle that education should be accessible to everyone. By continuously improving its infrastructure and strengthening support services, PSU moves closer toward a campus where every learner can say: “I belong here, I am included, and I have an equal opportunity to succeed.”
