PSUnians, we made it again to the ICONS Awards 2023!
The Pangasinan State University was bestowed the prestigious International Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2023 in recognition of its global excellence.
The ICONS Awards salutes the high impact initiatives of Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) towards sustainability, ASEAN awareness and internationalization.
It recognizes exemplary contributions of the awardees to the academic and social community in terms of leadership and of the arts.
Global recognition is bestowed through commendable performances of the HEIs in the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-recognized international metrics subcategorized into three β the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS Stars), Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rating and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).
PSU was recognized for its QS 3-Stars Rating. QS Stars, the worldβs largest global higher education network, is a rating system that provides a detailed look at an institution like program strength, facilities, graduate employability, social responsibility and inclusiveness, among others.
For Region I ICONS awardees, the trophy and plaque were handed by the Executive Director and International Affairs Director, Atty Lily Freida Milla and CHED Regional Director, Dr. Christine N. Ferrer.
The Award was personally received by University President Dr. Elbert Galas with the immediate past President and current Vice President for Administration and Linkages Dr. Dexter R. Buted, in a ceremony held at the Summit Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on October 6, 2023.
