The 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 led by 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬, warmly welcomed the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨 “𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐲” 𝐄. 𝐃𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐈𝐈𝐈, during his visit at the PSU – Bayambang Campus.

A program that focused on the UniFAST Connect 2025, an initiative to enhance student assistance and promote inclusive education, was held during the visit on February 6, 2025, at the Benigno Aldana Gymnasium.

The program opened with a seminar titled “𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬”, led by 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐈 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐦𝐚𝐭.

This was followed by a Meet and Greet Session, where Chair Popoy answered questions from the student body alongside 𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬, 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐈 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐫, 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭 𝐎𝐈𝐂-𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐋. 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐳, and well-known Filipino broadcast journalist 𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧̃𝐞𝐝𝐚.

During the session, Chair Popoy underscored the Commission’s commitment to student success, stating, “𝑴𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒀𝑶𝑼. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒉.”

Additionally, Chair Popoy announced that CHED would be granting 200 scholarship slots under its Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) to assist PSUnians in their academic journey.

To engage with students, Chair Popoy, together with Atty. Estevez, Pres. Galas, and other campus officials, participated in a karaoke session, giving PSUnians a platform to showcase their singing talents.

As the event concluded, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐆𝐢𝐥 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐬 and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐃𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚 shared their stories as TDP beneficiaries, emphasizing how the scholarship grant supports their studies and enables them to pursue a college degree.

Through its continued partnership with CHED, Pangasinan State University reaffirms its commitment to providing accessible, high-quality education for all.
