Opening more doors for exchange of ideas, the Pangasinan State University warmly welcomed the delegates from the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) for the latter’s benchmarking activity held on October 17.

In a fruitful dialogue, PSU shared its best practices on the Open University Systems (OUS), School of Advanced Studies (SAS) and the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) as well as the journey towards achieving the Philippine Quality Award Level III for Mastery in Quality Management.

Vice-President for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Manolito C. Manuel welcomed the 16 delegates from TAU as he said benchmarking activities would help benefit both institutions.

“This meeting of minds is a welcome engagement for every visiting academic institution as we offer our expertise, resources and mindset but we also want to learn from them,” Dr. Manuel said during the welcome program at the audio-visual room.

The presentation of Best Practices of PSU in various programs were led by OUS Executive Director Phillip Queroda, SAS Executive Director Rosario Valencerina and ETEEAP Director Cristie Marie Dalisay.

An open forum that followed revolved on concerns on the development of standards, competencies needed to be accepted at ETEEAP, accreditation requirements for SAS, faculty compensation and enrollment requirement authenticity for OUS students who are based overseas.

In response, the TAU Director for External Linkages ang Coordinator for graduate programs Dr. Christine Ferrer, who also headed the visiting delegation, expressed her gratitude to PSU adding that TAU advocates collaboration and cooperation with other universities to continue to make their institution responsive and relevant.

Dr. Cristeta Dulos, the Deputy Director for Administration, Planning and Quality Assurance of PSU-SAS formally closed the activity by saying whatever is true, noble, right and admirable are worth sharing to everyone.

Also present during the engagement were other university officials from the graduate programs, Dr. Romary Lincod, the OUS Deputy Director for Administration and Planning and Dr. Erna Salazar, the OUS Deputy Director for Academics, Research and Extension.

PSU, under the helm of University President Dexter R. Buted, has been accommodating benchmarking activities of various institutions to share how it achieved its humble accomplishments and help promote growth and advancement for all academic entities.
