Fostering internationalization pursuits in the academe, the Pangasinan State University participated in the ‘Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputation 2 (R1 FLAIR 2): An Internationalization masterclass for HEIs in Region 1’, held at the Tadena Hall of the University of Northern Philippines, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
The said convention, SIRMATA: Regional 1 Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputation, spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office 1 covered knowledge sharing and workshops.

Some nineteen (19) Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Region were invited in the three-day event from October 18-20, 2023.

PSU was represented by the Vice President for Research, Extension, Innovation and Gender and Development Office Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, Campus Executive Director for Alaminos City and incoming VP for Quality Assurance Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza, Director for Student and Alumni Affairs Prof. Celeste Mercado and Director for Planning Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco.

Themed as ‘Elevating Global Excellence: Strategies and Insights for Effective Higher Internationalization,’ the activity endeavored to prepare and capacitate Region 1 HEIs to participate and prepare their data for international rankings and ratings in 2023-2024.
The Director for CHED Regional Office 1, Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, welcomed the participants as she emphasized the significance of internationalization as a global mindset.

PSU led by University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, upholds the mantra of internationalization as one of its major tracks in providing excellence in the academe and in community development.
